SWAG TOOF - Harlem’s Adopted Children (Side: B) [Album & Video Premiere]

By ANIMALKRACKA,

SWAG TOOF (Choirboy and Ouija) just completed their musical sequel, Harlem’s Adopted Children (Side: B), and I’m honored to premiere it here on The Bloglin. Don’t expect throwaway B-sides, musical afterthoughts or misses just because “Side: B” is in the album’s title; these are well-produced, highly conceptualized rap tracks that are equally as ill as everything on the original HAC.
The anthemic “Helly” for instance blends Juggalo energy with that Old School Bay shit, its finger-snapping beat making it a perfect slapper to get you gigging in your scraper from Harlem to Oakland. The #rare pan pipes on “Hex Rap” are an ill touch, and give the track an interesting World Music appeal. On “Swag Is Dead”, Huntsville, Alabama’s Supa Sortahuman really shines through his lines: “My bad for being braggadocious,/ I’m so sorry for being so ferocious,/ so nasty, and so atrocious,/ from The Dirty, Dirty, like rats and roaches.” SO many bars! The Tele-K666 produced “Rap Circus” is an awesomely lyrical posse cut as well, featuring Mishka’s own resident spitters, .CULT. Finally, the album’s “Intro” is not to be missed, with Ouija singing “the ghetto’s my Camelot” in falsetto.
In the accompanying 11th Dimension Media produced video for “Helly”, SWAG TOOF are hanging upside down, back-to-back, smoking a six gram blunt, six feet up in the air in a conflagrated warehouse… in HELL! Well… not actually Hell… but you get the point… it’s Helly evil. Also, props to the devilish duo for rocking Mishka’s ever-popular and evolving R1TU4L5 collection throughout the video’s entirety, proving once and for all… swag isn’t dead.  Kracka out.
